InsideOut Living

A more of a mindful life and the neuroscience behind it

A deeper approach to coaching

Mindfulness is a mental discipline that teaches you spend more time in the present moment and helps you understand in greater detail what is going on around you from the ‘outside in’ but more importantly what is occurring within you from the ‘inside out’.

It shows you how to mentally observe what is going on around you and in your brain.

With stress now one of the leading causes of absence from work the requirement to find ways to build mental resilience is colossal.

Mindfulness is now supported by an abundance of scientific evidence and has proven to be an effective treatment for stress, PTSD, addiction and pain management. It is becoming a mainstream sensation and being included in many corporate well-being programs in business, schools, hospitals and even prisons.

Mindfulness is not just a powerful tool to regulate emotion that helps us pause and view our thoughts objectively, it provides a plethora of physiological and psychological benefits besides.

“Don’t believe everything you think. Thoughts are just that – thoughts” Alan Lokos

Our brain at work

The most complexed organism in the known universe and scientists still have lots to learn as to how it works.

Our brain is unique and is formed by our daily experiences and what we pay attention to. Recent discoveries about the brain help us understand the brain at work and the resulting benefits. Decision making and problem-solving relies on the region of the brain called the prefrontal cortex (PFC). This was the last major brain region to develop during human evolution. The PFC is the biological seat of our conscious interactions with the world, its where we hold the contents of our mind. It’s small but energy-hungry needing the right amount of fuel and rest to achieve its best work.

Utilising a moderately combined understanding of the brain and mindfulness we can access our inner tools and treasures to find ultimate performance levels in our work-life worlds.
